Past leadership
Mr. Robert Tait, Musical Director 2002 - 2017
The Orchestra would not be here today without the devoted and inspirational leadership of its founding conductor, Mr Robert Tait. Bob studied music at Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, after which he taught high school music throughout Central Scotland for twenty years. In 1984, he managed the Fife Music Advisory Service until his retirement in 1996, when he became the first Administrator of the National Youth Choir of Scotland. His current work includes roles as the organist and choir master at Falkirk Old & St Modan’s Parish Church, chairman of Classic Music Live! Falkirk, chairman of the Falkirk and District Arts & Civic Council and director and trustee of Falkirk Community Trust. He has founded or been involved with many of these organisations since the mid 1970s. |
Mrs. Christine Tait, Orchestra Inspiration
Bob is the first to acknowledge that much of his success, as well as that of the arts organisations he has been involved with, has been due to the support and involvement of his wife Christine. After retirement, she was the accompanist for the Falkirk Festival Chorus and involved in Classic Music Live! Falkirk. |
